About Our Four Angels Endowed Scholarship

On October 17, 2023, the Pepperdine community suffered the tragic loss of Niamh Rolston, Peyton Stewart, Asha Weir, and Deslyn Williams, four Seaver College students.

These students were bright lights in the Pepperdine community and each one of these students had a special impact on everyone they met. Their absence will long be felt. In an effort to honor their memory, Pepperdine is establishing the "Our Four Angels Endowed Scholarship,"  which will help continue the legacies of Niamh, Peyton, Asha, and Deslyn.

Niamh was a business administration major who planned to pursue a master’s degree in business analytics at the Pepperdine Graziadio Business School. Born and raised in Los Angeles, Niamh found a home at Seaver College and was known as a kind, helpful, and joyful person. A member of Alpha Phi’s Red Dress Gala committee, she was dedicated to serving others by shining an optimistic light on every situation. She is survived by her parents, Tracy and David Rolston, and her brother, Conor.

Peyton was committed to her Malibu community. She served as vice president of finance for the Alpha Phi sorority and maintained a part-time job in the Seaver College Career Center while studying international business.  She looked forward to a career in the tech industry after spending a summer working for TikTok. Peyton is remembered as a kind, thoughtful, and positive person. Peyton grew up in Manhattan NY and New Jersey.  She is survived by her parents, Barry and Carmela Stewart; her stepmother, Stephanie Elliott; and her sister, Kathleen.

Asha was an English writing and rhetoric major at Seaver College. Born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, she grew up in Skippack, Pennsylvania, before making her way to Pepperdine. Asha was an orientation leader, a member of the Indian Student Association, and an active member of the Alpha Phi sorority. She was known for the emotional intelligence and positive spirit she brought to every interaction. Asha planned to have a career as a writer, using her skills to encourage and heal others. She is survived by her parents, Vinita and Mark Weir, and her brothers, Michael and Jamie.

A pre-med biology major at Seaver College, Deslyn Williams was originally from Atlanta, Georgia. As an undergraduate, she served as the vice president of the pre-veterinary club, the recruitment chair for the Alpha Phi sorority, and the recruitment counselor for the Panhellenic Club. A confident, determined, and energetic person, one of Deslyn’s gifts was cultivating in others a sense of belonging, making them feel seen, heard, and valued. Deslyn is survived by her parents, Olive and Desmond Williams.
